I have recently started to explore mindfulness more deeply as it relates to my personal and professional life. I am in the midst of a training to support the therapeutic support I offer to my clients and have started my own daily practice of yoga and meditation. While I am not the best at sitting still, I find that the short practice I commit myself to in the morning before everyone wakes up has been so beneficial. I use my breath to focus on the present moment even if I only practice it for a couple of minutes at a time. I know it allows me to slow down, take stock of what I am thankful for and what I want to achieve that day. As I stretch, I continue to mind my breath as I warm up my body.

It doesn't take long and yet I feel the benefits as I go through my day.

I challenge you to take 5 minutes at the start of your day to sit in a quiet space and take stock of the moment before you. Your mind and body will reap the benefits, for sure.
